What's the Story? - Richards love of architecture, particularly the Art Deco period, promoted this large (1m x 1.2m) painting of the iconic Daily Echo Building in Bournemouth. Painted from its lower corner with the left-hand side perspective stretching to the top of Richmond Hill and the right hand side perspective kept on the level, the finished painting is a real statement piece.
Artist Richard Watkin paints the evocative locations and landscapes of Dorset from the beaches and towns of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch to the dramatic Jurassic Coastline and picturesque Purbeck villages. His work has a bold graphical style and evoke a sense of nostalgia.
Richard paints with acrylics on a linen canvas and this piece is 1m x 1.2m. Varnished and ready to hang the painting wraps around the side/edge of the canvas therefore framing is optional. The painting is signed and dated by Richard. If you would like to see the painting before you buy we are happy for you to visit the studio.
