What's the story? - Richards love of architecture, particularly the Art Deco period, promoted the painting of the iconic Daily Echo Building in Bournemouth. Painted from its lower corner with the left-hand side perspective stretching to the top of Richmond Hill and the right hand side perspective kept on the level, this really was a labour of love and the resulting image is a real stunner.
Artist Richard Watkin paints with acrylics in a simple graphical style, his latest nostalgic retro collection demonstrates his love of 1930s and 1940s style and features locations, architecture and retro transport, some real, some imagined creating a stylized, idyllic aesthetic.
