What's the Story?- Hurst Castle is an artillery fort established by Henry VIII on the Hurst Spit in Hampshire. We have fond memories of taking the children to the castle when they were small, they loved the ferry ride to get there and exploring the castle, we loved the far reaching views of the Isle of Wight. In February 2021, a section of wall on the 19th-century east wing of the castle collapsed and a major project is now underway to stabilise this part of the castle.
