What's the Story? - The Grade II listed Blandford Bridge and the newer iron footbridge make for an interesting composition. Richard was drawn to the parallels between the old and new bridges both spanning the River Stour. The Dorset Stour rises at the lakes at Stour Head in Wiltshire, with most of its course within the boundaries of Dorset, and finally draining into the English channel at Christchurch.

Artist Richard Watkin paints the evocative locations and landscapes of Dorset from the beaches and towns of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch to the dramatic Jurassic Coastline and picturesque Purbeck villages. He paints with acrylics in a bold graphical style, his travel print collection evokes a sense of nostalgia, a time when the pace of life was slower and the sun was always shinning!

Richard paints with acrylics on a linen canvas and this piece is 50cm x 70cm. Varnished and ready to hang the painting wraps around the side/edge of the canvas therefore framing is optional. The painting is signed and dated by Richard.
