What's the Story? - We visited the De La Warr Pavillion in Bexhill-On-Sea not long after the strict lock down measures were lifted. As lovers of 1930's architecture the building didn't disappoint. Constructed out of concrete and steel, with large glass windows, and sweeping balconies the centre was designed in 1932 by architects Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff at the behest of the young mayor, the 9th Earl De La Warr, to launch an international competition for the design of a seaside Pavilion. It opened to the public for the first time in Dec 1935, to critical and popular acclaim and controversy.
Free Postage - We say to allow up to 7 working days for delivery but it is usually quicker. Smaller prints are sent in recycled board backed envelopes, A2 prints will be sent rolled in a cardboard tube.
What is Giclée Printing? - The word Giclée is derived from the French verb gicler meaning “to squirt or spray” and is used to describe a fine art digital printing process combining pigment based inks with high quality archival quality paper to achieve print of superior archival quality and a print life of more than 85 years. We use a 12 colour inkjet printer and print on 315gsm 100% acid free cotton paper. The smaller prints are wrapped in cello bags that can be put in your recycling bin and the A2 prints are wrapped in acid free tissue paper. Please note we are making a gradual change to fully compostable and biodegradable bags.
We have taken into consideration that you may not want to go to the expense of having your prints professionally framed (although they do look great when they are!) so have kept to standard sizes, these all include an approximate 5mm white border -
