St Aldhelm's Chapel

Size Guide

Fine art Giclée prints created from original painting by Dorset artist Richard Watkin. Available in A4, A3 and A2 sizes. All prints are signed by Richard. FREE POSTAGE

What's the Story? - The rather unusual square stone St Aldhelm’s Chapel, believed to have been built in the late 12th century, stands 354 feet above sea level on the wonderful exposed and wild headland, which gives it its name. The surrounding grassland is filled with wild flowers including the early Spider Orchid, the first Orchid to flower in the UK. The simplicity of the chapel appealed to Richard along with its wild and isolated location when it was suggested he should paint it by a volunteer coastguard at the local station.
